A Tim Holtz Inspired Mixed Media Collage

I was one of the random winners for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 February!  I enjoyed playing along each month making my own tags.

This little red truck was so fun to make and was a special card for my father in law.

A hair raising experience.  This was quite the challenge to create hair using stamps and ink.  It was inspired by Kaz at the Shabby Shed.

It has been quite the adventure.  Along the way I have made some wonderful friends from all over the world.  Some online and some closer to home.  My focus for 2013 was to learn and I did that at every opportunity.  My likes and dislikes, new techniques, and most importantly that I love sharing my passion with others and get great joy and fulfillment out of teaching.  To see someone take a project of mine to a new level or in a different direction just makes me happy!

I'm looking forward to continuing the journey in 2014.  I hope that you will join me along the way.

Scenic Stamping - Crazy, Mad Love

Hello everyone!

I can't stop stamping!  I have fallen completely and madly in love with scenic stamping.  Haven't heard of that?  Well, I didn't know anything about it either until I discovered Anna-Karin at Layers of Ink.  She is an amazing artist.

I was minding my own business just popping in to check out Anna-Karin's latest and then I saw this project:

Whoa!  What's this and how did Anna-Karin create this?  I was getting excited as I read her post and discovered there is a blog called Craft A Scene.  Craft a what?  Of course I just popped right over there to check it out and I was blown away.  

I found out that there are some stamp companies that are devoted scene stamping.  I was hooked!  I have done several projects with paper where I experimented with scenes and perspective.  I was delighted to find out that there are stamps that would do the same thing!

I especially liked the stamps at Stampscapes.  I would go to the website and check out the hundreds of samples and admire the stunning quality.  Kevin Nakagawa, the artist and creator of these scenic stamps designs the images to be used together and overlap to create nature scenes.  Oh, and the bonus here is that I can use my favorite Tim Holtz Distress inks to color the scenes!  A match made in heaven I'm telling ya, ha, ha, ha.

It wasn't until I was in Vegas at CHA and got the chance to visit Viva Las Vegas Stamps that I saw some Stampscapes stamps in person.  I was so happy to discover these stamps on consignment.  Of course I snapped those babies up along with some other nature and scenic images.  I was one happy stamper!

I started with these three nice stamps.  I used two of them along with a tree stamp I already had to create this.

Oh, my this was sooooo much fun!  Very pleased with the results I decided I had to get some more stamps.  So I ended up with this bunch here.

Jumping up and down when the box arrived yesterday!  Right after dinner I ran to my studio and inked these babies up.  I'm telling you this is fun and very addictive.  I can't stop stamping!

First I created these and colored them with Distress Inks.

Then I stamped these but haven't had time to color them  yet.

So many ideas for cards and projects!  

Oh I'm in scenic stampy love!  I can't stop stamping, tee, hee.
