Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 February

Happy last day of February!

I was able to squeeze in Tim's February tag.  Yahoo!  His tag was love themed and since we are way past Valentines Day I went with a steampunk theme.  The Tim Holtz original tag is on his website.

Loving the collage effect of these techniques.  I used what I had in my stash.  Using all the bits of Idea-ology paper that I have been saving was very satisfying.  What a great way to use your scraps!

You can see one of my favorite gents peeking out from the frame.  Papers are from a variety of paper stash pads including French Industrial and Wallflower.

The pocket watch is a movers and shapers die.  The center is filled with metal gears and bits as well as some mica flakes.  It's all held in with a good dose of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel).

The wire wrapped around the spinner makes a great touch.

Well that's my take on Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 February.  Hope you enjoyed it.  The new tag for March comes out tomorrow so be sure to stop by Tim's blog to check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Creating!

Sundays with Sharon

Hello!

I'm so excited to share with you a new class series I am teaching at Chico Scrapbooks.  It's all about mixed media and art journaling and its called Sundays with Sharon.  Fun, huh?

My first class was last Sunday on January 15th.  We created an art journal page using Dylusions techniques.  The theme was luck and the color scheme was green.  My take on a St Paddy's Day page.

Thanks to Terri, Patti, Dede, Pam, Marge, Lynda, Rosemary, Annie, Ruby, and Eva for attending the first Sundays with Sharon and for making it such a great experience.  It warms my heart to see all of you having such a good time getting inky and creating!

A huge thanks to Jodie Beck, the owner of Chico Scrapbooks, for saying yes to my crazy idea.  Your support means so much.  Oh, and thanks for taking such great photos of the day!

My pages to inspire the group.  I did a one page spread on water color paper and a two page spread in my Dylusions Journal.

First up a little discussion on how I chose my colors.  The one on the right looks like camouflage, ha ha

This is how we use our paper towels, aka kitchen roll to mop up the excess ink.

What a fun day!

What a great day!  I so enjoy teaching.  It's all about seeing the joy in the faces, hearing the laughter, and knowing that everyone walked away with a new technique or skill.

Looking forward to the next Sundays with Sharon in March.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed the day with me.

Happy Creating!

Hugs, Sharon

Compendium of Curiosities, Challenge 21

It's time for another installment of the Compendium challenge.   This challenge is all about the Rock Candy Distress Glitter. Wow, what fun I had with this one!  I couldn't just stop making cards and tags with this technique.

I immersed myself in hearts and pinks and reds to celebrate love and Valentines Day!  I pulled out some newest Tim Holtz stamps, stencils and texture fades and just played and played.

This card has a finished size of 5 3/4 x 5 3/4.

Here are a few of the tags.

Those who play along have a chance to win some great Tim goodies and a gift certificate by the challenge sponsor.

CC3 challenge 21 is sponsored by Inspiration Emporium. Check out their website at http://www.inspirationemporium.com for lots of Tim Holtz goodies and much more.

Hope you get a chance to try this technique. Such fun!

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Creating.

CHA Winter 2015 - Stampers Anonymous and Ranger

Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a great start!

I've got a few more posts on the CHA Winter show. Hope you aren't too tired of all the posts from and others. We just get so excited about the new and up and coming products we have to share.

Today I will share some bits from Stampers Anonymous and Ranger. These two companies are among my top go to products. For those that know me, a great deal of my inspiration comes from the man himself, Tim Holtz. So you won't be surprised to see a lot of Tim products today, right?  He he he.

Sit back and enjoy.

Yes, I have gone crazy over these birds. Sooooo cute and full of character. Great fun to color. Thanks to Jodie at Chico Scrapbooks I was able to snag mine as soon as they arrived in the store.  Thanks Jodie!

I couldn't wait to dive in and created a card with this cute guy.  Oh and the flower garden stamps are awesome too.

Some of the Stampers Anonymous samples at the show.

I didn't get a lot of Ranger photos but here are a few things that caught my eye.

While not new I need to add this small brayer to my tool kit. So versatile.

So much coming from both Stampers Anomymous and Ranger. I didn't even talk about the new Dylusions paints. Yes, I said paint. Formulated to perfectly compliment the sprays and add more layers to your pages. I believe these are due out in the next month or two.

Still left to share is the Idea-ology release, some fun embossing from Stampendous, and the friends I visited with while at CHA.

I also have some Documented Life 2015 pages to share as well as what's coming up with Sundays with Sharon, my new mixed media series at Chico Scrapbooks. Oh, and there is the February Tim tag, and the latest Compendium challenge. On a creative roll right now and loving it.

Thanks for all your kind comments and for taking the time to stop by SYs Studio.

Happy Creating!
