Did you see Tim's April tag? Just love the florals on the craft tags! The flower garden stamp is fast becoming one of my favorites. Love that we can create our own floral arrangement.
Be sure to visit Tim's blog here to check out his inspirational tag as well as those who have played along this month.
I stayed true to the original design of the tag only changing the floral stamp, colors and embellishment.
The background technique was new to me. Loving the mottled effect. I used Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky for my background colors.
Always fun to color and shade these florals. I chose Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, and Spiced Marmalade for my flower colors. Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint were used for the stems and leaves.
The splatters created with the spritzer were Walnut Stain and Picket Fence.
For the embellishment I used a gumdrop instead of a star.
Tim even inspired me to break out the sewing machine! He said its all in the details. So true, the stitching adds that extra something that makes such a difference. Now if I can just find a spot in my craft room to keep the sewing machine out I would probably use it more often. Hmmmm, maybe I can swap the hardly ever used cricket for the sewing machine . . .
Such a happy tag, don't you agree? I'm not sure I would have thought to cut the one inch slit in the tag to fit the stamped and colored image into but I will most definitely be using that technique again.
So glad I took the time to create this tag. Learned some new techniques that I will be using again. Felt great to just make something for me.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Thanks Tim for the wonderful inspiration this month!
Happy Creating!
Hugs, Sharon
